Wedding Cakes & Desserts
What Determines the Cost of a Wedding Cake?
Wedding cake cost depends on the amount of cake, the design and decoration work, and the cake or desserts you choose. Simply Caketastic wedding cakes typically range from $150 to $600+, depending on size and design. Your final price is confirmed after discussing your guest count, ideas and budget—not from a photo alone.

How does guest count affect your cake budget?
Start with your approximate guest count and tell the bakery whether cake will be the only dessert. This helps us discuss how much cake you need without treating every tiered design as the same number of servings.
The number of servings depends on the cake's dimensions and how it is cut. Rather than relying on a generic chart, ask the bakery to recommend a size for your event. Include whether you want a cutting cake with cupcakes, a cake for all guests or a broader dessert table.
Which design details should you discuss when asking for a quote?
Share the style you love and identify the details that matter most: a particular texture, color palette, sculpted feature, topper or arrangement. Size and decoration work help shape the quote, so two cakes that serve similar guest counts may not cost the same.
If you have several inspiration photos, explain which parts of each you like. A clear priority list gives the bakery a chance to suggest design options with your budget in mind. We don't need you to have every detail settled before you contact us.
- Guest count and the cake size the bakery recommends
- Number of tiers and the overall shape you are considering
- Buttercream, fondant or other finishes you want to discuss
- Flowers, textures, modeled details and toppers
- Cake flavors, fillings and any dietary questions
Are cupcakes or a dessert table less expensive than a wedding cake?
Not automatically. Compare the whole dessert plan, including quantities, decorations and what you want each guest to receive. Simply Caketastic cupcakes are $3.25–$3.75 each, with sets starting at 12. Dessert bars and tables typically range from $250 to $1,000, depending on the assortment and guest count.
Ask for options based on the same guest count and budget: a wedding cake, cake plus cupcakes, or a dessert assortment. Tarts, brownies, cheesecakes, cookies and cake pops can be discussed alongside the cake. These ranges are planning information, not a confirmed quote or a promise that one option will cost less.
What should your wedding cake quote confirm?
Before deciding, confirm the design, serving plan, flavors, total price and pickup or delivery arrangements. Delivery fees depend on your location. On-site setup availability and any charges must be confirmed separately; don't assume they are included in the cake price.
Custom orders need at least 7 days' notice. Rush orders are accepted with a rush fee, discussed when the order is confirmed. Availability still needs to be checked with the bakery.
No order work starts until a 50% non-refundable deposit has been received. Sending the online request does not confirm an order; the bakery calls to finalize the custom details and pricing first.
The online request is a convenient starting point. Share your wedding date, guest count and budget, then use the follow-up call to confirm the details that affect your celebration.
